The Caladium Stardust showcases this botanical elegance beautifully with its heart-shaped leaves boasting a stellar constellation of white variegation splattered across deep green margins. Perfect for adding a splash of vibrant, tropical drama, this compact starter plant transforms any bright indoor shelf into a lush botanical sanctuary.
This exquisite young plant is carefully cultivated to ensure healthy growth and vigorous color. It serves as a striking foliage display that easily coordinates with contemporary interior design.
Caladium Stardust thrives in bright, indirect light. This specific light exposure is crucial to maintaining its highly detailed white variegation. Direct sunlight must be avoided as it will scorch the delicate, paper-thin leaves.
Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water your plant when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot.
Currently shipped as a Jiffy Sized starter plant (approximately 10-15 cm in height), it features a compact, bushy growth habit and is an ideal size for terrariums, desks, or windowsill gardens.
Native to South America, Caladiums are tuberous tropical plants. The ‘Stardust’ cultivar is prized for its splash-like white variegation that resembles a starry night sky overlaying a vibrant green canvas.
Caladium Stardust is toxic to dogs, cats, and humans if ingested. It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause oral irritation, drooling, and swallowing difficulties. Keep out of reach of curious pets and children.
Q: Is the Caladium Stardust suitable for beginners?
A: With consistent watering and bright indirect light, it is a highly rewarding plant for intermediate plant parents or attentive beginners looking to expand their collection.
Q: How often should I fertilize my Caladium Stardust?
A: During the active growing season (spring and summer), fertilize every 2-4 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.
