A natural, mechanical killer for crawling insects! This fine powder is made from the fossilized remains of ancient aquatic organisms (diatoms). When insects crawl over it, the microscopic, razor-sharp edges scratch the insect’s protective waxy coating, causing them to dehydrate and die. It provides long-lasting control as long as it remains dry.

Best For:
-
Crawling Pests: Controlling ants, fleas, ticks, earwigs, cockroaches, slugs, and garden pests like squash bugs.
-
Indoor/Outdoor Use: Can be safely used inside the home, in kennels, vegetable gardens, and perimeter barriers.
-
Organic Gardeners: A completely natural, non-chemical pest control method.
-
Key Actionable Steps:
-
How to Apply (Dry): Use a dust applicator or puffer to lightly dust areas where pests travel. A light, barely visible layer is most effective. Re-apply if the area gets wet.
-
How to Apply (Garden): Dust the soil around plants and lightly dust the foliage, paying special attention to the undersides of leaves.
-
Indoor Barrier: Apply a thin layer along baseboards, window sills, door frames, and pet sleeping areas to control fleas and ants.
-
Pro Tip: DE works mechanically, not chemically, so insects must physically contact it. It is ineffective when wet. It also works best against soft-bodied insects. Always avoid inhaling the dust by using a mask during application.
