New Guinea Long Mango (Mangifera indica), also known as Cedar Bay and associated with Golek, produces distinctive elongated fruit with thick yellow-orange flesh that becomes sweet when ripe, with noticeable fibre and a firmer, crisper texture when eaten green. Its upright growth habit makes it somewhat narrower than many spreading mangoes, with an estimated mature size of around 68 m high and 45 m wide if left unpruned. Give it full sun, good drainage and regular water while establishing, then prune after harvest to control height and encourage a healthy, open canopy.
