Native to Central America, the fruit has a tangy, citrus-like flavour, similar to a lemon, with a hint of sweetness. The tree is valued for its ornamental appeal, with glossy, dark green leaves, and for its fruit, which can be eaten fresh or used in drinks, desserts, and preserves. It’s well-suited to warm climates.
