Natal Plum Green Carpet (Carissa macrocarpa)

Natal Plum Green Carpet (Carissa macrocarpa) is a low-growing, evergreen groundcover known for its dense, glossy green foliage and small, fragrant white flowers that appear sporadically throughout the year, followed by bright red, edible fruit. Reaching a height of up to 30-60 cm, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, sandy soils. Ideal for use as a groundcover, in borders, or on slopes for erosion control, this tough and drought-tolerant plant provides year-round interest. Plant in spring or autumn, and water regularly until established. It’s a versatile and resilient choice for adding greenery and texture to your landscape.
